JIO | Introduction

Reliance Jio Infocom Ltd. is an Indian mobile network operator. Owned by Reliance Industries and headquarter in Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra, it operates a national LTE network with coverage in all 22 telecom circles. Jio does not offer 2G or 3G services, and instead uses voice over LTE to provide voice service on its network.

On December 27, 2015, on the eve of the 83rd birthday of Reliance Industries founder Dhirubhai Ambani, Jeio Soft launched with Beta for partners and employees and became publicly available on September 5, 2016. October 2018, it is the third largest mobile network operator in India and has the world's ninth largest mobile network operator with more than 252 million subscribers.

On July 5, 2018, during the company's annual general meeting, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, launched a fixed line broadband service named GigaFiBar.

JIO Services

Jio Phone
On 21 July 2017, Jio introduced its first affordable 4G feature phone, which was operated by Caoos, called Jiophone. The declared value for this is with the security deposit of ₹ 0 ₹ 1500, which can be withdrawn by the user after returning to Jio Store after three years by Jiophone. This phone was released for beta users on August 15, 2017 and on August 24, 2017, pre-booking was started for regular users.

4G broadband
The company launched its 4G broadband services in India in September 2016. [11] After some reports, the company announced its release in December 2015 after waiting for the final permit to be received. Jio provides fourth generation (4G) data and voice services, as well as peripheral services like instant messaging and movies and music streaming.

The company has a network of more than 250,000 fiber optic cables in the country, on which it will partner with local cable operators to get broad connectivity for broadband services. With its Multi-Service Operator (MSO) license, Jio will also act as a TV channel distributor and offer television on their network on demand.

In June 2015, Bio entered the agreement with the domestic handset maker Intex so that the 4G handset capable of sound on LTE (VoLTE) could be supplied. [36] However, in October 2015, Jio announced that it will launch its mobile handset brand named LVF. [37] [38] [39]

On January 25, 2016, the company launched its LVF smartphone [40] series starting with Water 1 through its series of electronic retail outlets, Reliance Retail. [41] So far, three more handset models have been released, i.e. water 2, [42] earth 1, [43] and flame 1. [44] [45]

Prior to its All India launch of 4G data and telephony services, JIo has started providing free Wi-Fi hotspot services in cities like Surat, Ahmedabad and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh all over India, [46] Indore, Jabalpur, Dewas and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh [47], select Mumbai's places in Maharashtra, [48] Kolkata in West Bengal, [49] Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, [50] Bhubaneswar in Odisha, [51] In Ttrakhand in Mussoorie, [52] Collectorate office Meerut, [53] and on MG Road in Vijayawada [54] among others.

In March 2016, Jio started offering free Wi-Fi internet to viewers in six Cricket Stadiums hosted by the 2016 ICC World Twenty20. Jio launches Jio Giga Fiber on August 15, 2018, which provides high-speed broadband, landline, and DTH services at reasonable cost.

Jio Apps
On May 2016, Jio launched a bundle of multimedia applications on Google Play as part of its upcoming 4G services. While apps are available for download for everyone, the user will need a live SIM card to use. In addition, most apps are in beta phase. The following is a list of applications:

  • JioSwitch - To transfer content between Android to Android, Android for iOS, Android to Jiophone, IOS to Jiophone, IOS to iOS and Jiophone to Jiophos.
