Tata Docomo

Tata Docomo Limited is an Indian mobile network operator, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Teleservices, established in November 2008. By July 2018, it is the fifth largest operator in the country in terms of clients. By June 2018, it has 26.62 million subscribers.
Tata Docomo Services
Tata Indicom Limited works in 19 Telecom Circle and provides services on GSM platforms. Mobile services are available in the following telecom circles: Effectively from June 17, 2013, it does not offer postpaid services on both CDMA and GSM in Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal (excluding Kolkata). 


On May 19, 2010, 3G spectrum auction was concluded in India. Tata Indom paid Rs 64 5864.29 crores for spectrum in 10 circles. These circles received 3G licenses and are in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Goa, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh (West).

On 5th November 2010, Tata Indicom Ltd became the first private sector telecom company (third overall) to launch 3G services in India with the launch of 20 cities. On July 19, 2011, Docomo and Aircel entered the roaming agreement for 3G services in three circles to jointly roll the 3G network, where both have coverage (Karnataka, Kerala, and Punjab). On December 14, 2011, DoCoMo terminated its agreement with Aircel. After the Department of Telecommunications, the two operators had terminated the deal that such a 3G system was illegal because the agreements violate the license terms and conditions. Tata Docomo and Aircel currently have bilateral roaming agreements to enable their customers to use 3G on roaming. By December 2017, Tata Docomo had approximately 36.69 million customers.

Tata Docomo CDMA aka Tata Indicom closed its services at 2018/04/2006. In 2017, Tata Docomo signed an agreement with Airtel to share 3G/2G network under ICRA so that it could expand 3G services in all circles where it operates and Airtel Network will cover that area/customers. Where there is less coverage in the Tata Docomo network. At present, Tata Docomo and Airtel are waiting for final approval to finalize the merger with the NCLT, after completion of the merger, Tata Docomo will be able to reach the customer's 4G network of Airtel. Tata Docomo will not become fully Airtel after the merger Only groups will share the network for better coverage.
